Nothing compares to the joy I feel whenever I see photos of children reading my book.
Picture
This was taken while watching over Cloe the whole afternoon. She loved reading The Magic Paintbrush so she was so excited when I showed another book that I had written.

I sent a copy of Mud Spots and Candy Sprinkles to my illustrator in the Philippines. She said her two kids were so thrilled to find out that their mom illustrated this book.

Here are the grandkids of my poet friend, Carole. They have just discovered two new favorite bedtime stories.

I couldn't visit Ayla while she was about to go through her first chemo treatment so I sent her a copy of Mud Spot and Candy Sprinkles. I wished I could give her even just a few minutes of happiness through my book.

Chrissie and I did a book swap. She sent me signed copy of her 'Mud Spots

And Candy Sprinkles' for my grand daughter Zuri. I sent her a signed copy of my The Little Seed And His Brother' for her god daughter.
Zuri loves to hear Molly's story read to her and on first reading, when we got to page 9 and turned the page, she turned back to page 9 and said she loved that outfit Kaitlyn is wearing. We spend fun hours reading this book.

Haha Can't believe it took me a year to reply to you here. First of all, I thought I would just respond personally to all comments, but then I realized it would be more intimate if the interaction is here. Sorry it took me so long, Gillena. You know I am always grateful for your support. I hope Zuri still treasure the book and enjoys reading it over and over.

I wished I were there to read it to her. I was sick that time, but Les told me that she was happy to receive the book. Thanks for commenting here. :-)

I bought these for my granddaughters and had great fun reading both to them, and they still enjoy revisiting them on their own. Chrissi sure knows kids and how to make reading enjoyable. Both girls giggled at the painted puddle that looked like cow poop. Lots of laughter....and it's so neat to see my girls reading and enjoying a book written by a poet friend!

Thank you so much for your feedback, Carole. That seems to be the favorite page of any young reader I know—the cow poop. haha. I love it when I make kids laugh and enjoy reading. It is a pleasure to know that my stories work among kids. I think even the parents enjoy reading The Magic Paintbrush.

Many thanks to Ms. Chrissi Villa for sending me and my kids a copy of this great book! One I'm proud to tell that I had the chance to illustrate this book for her. A very good author with a big heart for kids. Her book teaches not only children but also adults, the importance of accepting our own's flaw. Lessons that teaches us to embrace our flaws for us to truly loving ourselves... because it is us, a part of us... Let's all be like Molly. Her inner beauty is what matters most. Let's not be down by our flaws or weaknesses. Instead, use them to strengthen our character and improve ourselves to fully enjoy the many blessings life does afford you. Thanks Ms. Chrissi for all the ideas you put on this book. Will help many kids to love and accept what they have physically...

Thank you so much, Kathleen! It was wonderful working with you. Your illustrations have brought so much life to the story. I'm sure your family were so proud of you when they saw the book. I would love to work with you for the third time :-) :-) :-)
